Azahara Bellydancer is a London-based professional belly dance instructor and performer with over 13 years of experience. As a child she trained in ballet, flamenco, acrobatics and contemporary dance. Azahara stumbled onto belly dance in 2006 in her quest to find an alternative to the gym. From that moment she was hooked! She found an exercise that was fun rather than a chore. She could get so carried away by the mesmerizing music and not feel she was exercising. Azahara not only stumbled upon belly dance but fell in love with this beautiful, feminine, empowering, mysterious, elegant and timeless dance form.
Azahara has trained in the UK and in South America with world acclaimed Middle Eastern dance instructors and performers. She became a belly dance instructor in 2008 and has taught hundreds of students in her many years of teaching in London. Azahara is passionate about passing on her knowledge of belly dance and renowned for her elegant dance style and considered breakdown of technique. She has a warm, positive and engaging teaching approach, encouraging students to unlock, further and achieve their dance potential.
As a certified Pilates instructor, she incorporates her Pilates knowledge in her Belly Dance teaching to create and maintain a holistic mind-body approach.
